Deldra Sands is a Bahamian fine artist, writer, and designer specializing in portraiture abstract art and fashion. Born and raised in Grand Bahama, she has been drawing since childhood, debuting her earliest works between 2011 and 2014. After earning a B.F.A. in Dramatic Writing from Savannah College of Arts and Design and an eleven-year hiatus, she returned to her passions with a found voice—working with clients like Royal Caribbean International and building a new body of work. Her portraits begin with realism and twist into abstraction through layering, bold color, and organic texture. Inspired by faces and Bahamian flora, she strives to create dreamlike works that carry real messages with playful, three-dimensional detail. Deldra is also the author of I'm Grateful, a children's book that has reached Barnes & Noble shelves and touched young readers internationally.
